Bell Trading Turquoise and Sterling Silver Thunderbird Ring - Size 7 3/4
One of the more well known Southwest Jewelry making companies, Bell Trading first began making Native American style jewelry in 1932 to capitalize on the tourist trade brought to the southwest by the Santa Fe Railroad. The company continued in some form into the 80's.
This classic Native American design Bell Trading ring features a Turquoise cabochon, Thunderbirds, and arrowheads. The Thunderbird is a powerful protective deity. The arrowheads are supposed to symbolize alertness. As such the "magic" in this ring is for protective awareness.
The stamping on this ring includes the Bell Trading hallmark which was first used in the early 1960's. This ring is likely from the 60's as the company updated it's logo in 1969 when it became the "Sunbell" company.
The ring band is 1/2 inch at its widest and 1/8 inch at it's smallest. The setting stands slightly over a 1/16 inch from the band. It weighs approximately 4 grams. The band size is approximately 7 3/4.
The Turquoise cabochon is slightly under 3/8th inches tall and 1/4 inch wide.
