Ernest Wood Navajo Sterling Silver Turquoise Statement Ring - Size 13
One of the largest and boldest Native American Sterling Silver Turquoise statement rings we have ever had the pleasure to own. The heavy and bold silver-solder and file work setting show off a wonderful Turquoise dome cabochon. The vibrant blue turquoise has a heavy matrix, a thick, dark, web.
The metal in this ring is .925 Sterling. At it's largest the ring is approximately 1 1/2 inches tall and lightly larger than 1 1/4 of a quarter inch wide. The setting stands off the band nearly 1/2 inch. The Turquoise cabochon is approximately 1 inch tall by 7/8ths inch in diameter at it's largest. It weighs approximately 24 grams. The band size is approximately 13.
Based on the stamping we believe this ring to be made by Southwest Native American artisan Ernest Wood. He is a member of the Navajo tribe. That is why we believe this "EWN" stamp belongs to him. Most of the pieces we have seen by Ernest Wood are simply signed "EW" however it is not unheard of for individuals to add an addition letter for his or her tribe. We believe that the "EWN" stand for Ernest Wood Navajo.
