Bird Mosaic With Turquoise Sterling Silver Cuff Bracelet
One of the most stunningly elegant pieces we have ever owned. This beautiful cuff bracelet features a meticulous bird Mosaic set in Mother of Pearl. Turquoise, Abalone Shell, and other materials are used in the Mosaic. The Mosaic is surrounded by 14, nearly identical, blue turquoise cabochons. We are unable test the turquoise stones and base our identification off experience.
The Sterling potion of the cuff is another work of art with tested sterling running through the center of two finely stamped shanks with a unique, almost brutalist, patterning.
The piece is not stamped but may be an example of Zuni inlay work. The Zuni frequently make mosaic pieces like this, though artisans of other tribes are known to do it as well. The addition of the turquoise to this piece makes it likely a one of a kind piece.
The metal has tested for sterling and the construction is typical of the Southwest Native American artisans of the later half of the 20th century. A thorough inspection of this piece truly reveals the mastery of the unknown artisan who constructed this piece.
The bracelet weights in at approximately 32 grams. The setting, which includes the bird mosaic and Turquoise, stands about 2 inches tall and an 1 1/4 inch wide at the largest point. The bracelet itself stands about 2 inches tall and 2 3/8 ths inches at it's largest point. The gap in the cuff is currently just under two inches across.
