Larger Slab Turquoise and Sterling Silver Southwestern Cuff
This larger slab Turquoise and Sterling Silver southwest style cuff bracelet is extremely nice. A great bracelet for any serious collector. The piece features a larger lone Turquoise cabochon. The visible backing on the cabochon makes it likely to be a North American piece. The Sterling Silver scallops flanking the cabochon are a design feature most commonly found in Navajo pieces. Twisted wire and file work on the setting are indicative of Native American construction. The triangular Sterling Silver wire, forged together to form the bracelet cuff, are common materials used by Native American artisans in the American Southwest. However, as this piece is not signed, we cannot say with any certainty that it is a Native American piece.
This piece is not stamped but based on our opinion likely dates from the late 1970's. The metal did test well for sterling.
The bracelet weighs 64 grams, over 2 troy ounces. At its tallest the bracelet setting is just under two inches and just under 1 and 3/4 inches at it's widest. The bracelet is about 2 and 3/4 inches wide and stands just under 2 and 1/4 inches. The opening is just over 1 and 1/4 inches wide. The Turquoise cabochon is just under 1 and 3/4 inches tall and 1 and 1/4 of an inch at its widest.
