A great statement ring with a large Turquoise stone! A classic example of Southwest Native American design work with a large cabochon, a leaf, and shadowbox design work. This piece does not have a readable signature, or other stamping, though a signature might have existed on the outside bottom part of the band. You can see these marks in the pictures. There is also some design stamping near the top of the bands by the setting. We have been told that this style of ring was made as a protection piece for Medicine Men and was meant to be worn on the pinky. The Leaf serves as a protective design. The darkened half circles are called shadow boxes and are a traditional Native American design.
The metal in this ring is .925 Sterling. The ring is approximately 1.5 inches tall and 1 1/4 inches wide. It weighs approximately 14 grams. The band size is approximately 8.5
This piece contains 1 Turquoise cabochon that measures slightly less than 1 inch tall and slightly over 1/2 inch at its widest.
